JOB DETAILS:

Applicants should be Ugandans holding an Honours Bachelor’s Degree in Electronic Engineering; or Electrical Engineering; or Telecommunications Engineering; or Communications Engineering from a recognized University/Institution.

Duties
The incumbent will be responsible to the Senior Information Technology Infrastructure Engineer -Cables for performing the following duties:-

- Prescribing appropriate engineering characteristics for ICT infrastructure developments in the country;

- Providing technical guidance and support assistance to Ministries, Departments, Agencies and Local Governments in all matters relating to ICT infrastructure installations;

- Regularly identifying issues (of policy in nature) in ICT infrastructure developments/Improvement to be addressed by Government;

- Ensuring that the Ministries, Departments, Agencies and Local Governments have in place optimally running ICT infrastructure and connectivity to the national fiber backbone;

- Monitoring and evaluating the implementation of legislations, policies, plans and strategies on cabling networks;

- Conducting research on advances and development of the Communications Technologies and trends; and

- Any other duties as may be assigned from time to time.
