Job Summary

The Human Resource Manager is responsible for ALL matters relating to all categories of Employees of the Medical Group, including but not limited to employee recruitment. Planning, retention, motivation, exit and HR related policies and procedures.

Must have;
  • Masters Degree in Human Resource Management, Human Psychology or any other related field with additional qualification in Human Resource
  • Atleast 5 years working experience in Human resources, 2 of which should have been at Senior Management level in a reputable organization
  • Work experience in a medical facility will be an added advantage
  • ABOVE 32 years of age at the time of application

Responsibilities

STAFFING
  • Forecast staffing requirement (staffing planning)
  • Identify staff gaps and work out strategies on how to close the gaps
  • Proper orientation and integration of new staff, as well as re-orientation of existing staff
  • Devise and implement strategies for motivation and retention of staff
DOCUMENTATION
  • Streamline documentation within the human resource department
  • Ensure that ALL categories of staff are duly appointed with duly signed performance contracts
  • Ensure staff files are duly updated at all times (with bio-data information, appointment letters, practicing certificates, CVs, internal communications with the employee, etc)
  • Ensure that specialists and all other medical staff have files containing their APLs, Contracts and other relevant information
STRATEGIC RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Implement HR strategies by establishing departmental accountabilities, talent acquisition, retention, health & safety, compensation, records management and labour relations
  • Support Management by providing Human Resource advice, counsel and decisions
  • Ensure that the  existing team of staff is relevant for the achievement of our strategic goals and objectives
  • Advise Management from time to time on issues that would compromise compliance with the labour laws
  • Be responsible for identifying and preventing employee related risks by putting in place the necessary policies
  • Ensure t hat all medical staff and consultants are duly licensed by relevant bodies before and during their stay with the company
STAFF PRODUCTIVITY
  • Ensure continuous staff appraisals and performance management
  • Monitor staff attendance. Ensure timekeeping and adherence to time-tables. Ensure that employees cover their required hours of work.
  • Manage staff leave and offs (annual leave, sick leave & compassionate leave) and ensure that there is appropriate cover for continuity of service.
STAFF WELFARE
  • Develop and implement strategies for staff wellness, health and safety
  • Ensure that staff are provided with meals
  • Resolve daily staff work related challenges
  • Advise Management from time to time on issues relating to staff welfare and motivation
  • Promote and ensure appropriate dressing code and uniforms
EMPLOYEE REMUNERATION
  • Ensure that staff are paid as per their terms of service and on time
  • Ensure that all necessary recoveries are made (advances, medical bills, losses)
  • Handle staff complaints and give feedback.
STAFF TRAINING & DEVELOPMENT
  • Identify training gaps and advise management from time to time on how to close the gaps
  • Coordinate and ensure Continuing Medical Education (CMEs) and keep record of each employee attendance
  • Identify training programmes/activities which the different categories of staff can attend for purposes of their personal and institutional growth
  • Ensure continuous staff training
STAFF POLICIES & PROCEDURES
  • Advise management on appropriate human resource policies
  • Be the custodian of HR policies and procedures
  • Oversee the implementation of the HR manual
  • Ensure that all employee are well versed with various HR policies and procedures
  • Head the disciplinary committee
  • Monitor development, documentation and implementation of standard operating procedures
STAFF MEETINGS
  • Organise staff meetings and ensure minutes are filed
  • Ensure that departmental meetings take place
  • Follow up on action points
  • Support Management by providing Human Resource advice, counsel and decisions.
  • Be in charge of outsourced service providers
  • Any other duties that may be assigned by the supervisor.
