The bank operates 32 regulated branches and 159 satellite offices covering 84 districts in Uganda targeting Micro, Small. and Medium Entrepreneurs. BRAC Uganda Bank Ltd promotes financial inclusion by extending financial services to unserved and underserved populations especially women and youth as well as people living in poverty in rural areas. The Bank is operationally and financially self-sustaining with over 231,000 active customers and a loan book in excess of Ushs.175 billion.

 

Job Summary: To drive the achievement of business and overall bank’s objectives through the implementation of Human resource strategies, policies and practices. In partnership with the Heads of Departments, Divisional Manages and line supervisors, HRBP provides consultancy services to enable delivery of best practices and HR focused solutions to BRAC Uganda Bank Ltd. This position serves as a liaison between the business lines and HR to ensure fulfilment of human resources needs such as recruitment, performance management, compensation, career development, Talent Management, Grievance Handling among others.

 

 

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Manpower Planning: Analysis of resource gaps, maintaining of required head count, Recruitment, Induction, career and succession planning, Probationary, Leave and exit management.
  • Organisational Design and Change Management: Monitor the appropriate use of various types of employee contracts and staff resources, of change initiatives, drive and deliver HR initiatives to support business, work in partnership with operational management teams to identify areas and opportunities for improvement.
  • Learning and development management: Training needs assessments, career conversations, Talent management.
  • Performance Management: instill performance culture, coordinate performance appraisals, manage feedback process, PIP management.
  • Employee Relations: Interpret policies and procedures, attend to employee grievances and complaints, ensure workplace harmony).
  • Read, understand, practice, promote and endorse the issues of safeguarding policy among team members and ensure the implementation of safeguarding standards in every course of action.
  • Follow the safeguarding reporting procedure in case any reportable incident takes place, encourage others to do so.
  • Support other roles within HR as need be including operational issues e.g. payroll

 

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

 

  • Human Resources management, Business Administration, Management, Economics or related field.
  • Post Graduate Degree in Human Resource Management is an added advantage.
  • At least 3 years as an HR Generalist, Business Partner, Employee Relations, or Change Management or Team Development role.
