Description

The HR Assistant is mainly responsible for providing support to departmental hiring and staffing needs as well as day-to-day administrative functions.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:
• Recruiting and Hiring:
• Partnering with hiring managers to determine staffing needs.
• Screening resumes and maintaining a recruitment resource database (CVs).
• Performing in-person and phone interviews with candidates.
• Administering appropriate company assessments.
• Performing reference and background checks.
• Making recommendations to company hiring managers.
• Support the orientation and onboarding process. Administration:
• Provide support in HR administration by tracking all administrative details done in each department, including execution of contracts, planning and completion of on-boarding, execution of performance management reviews, evaluation of salary advances, and tracking for leave.
• Ensure all employee records are complete and updated in both hard and soft copies
• Assist in exit administration, ensure that staff exiting has handed over all required assets.
• Perform other functions as required by the Supervisor.

Requirements
• Minimum of Diploma in Human Resource Management, Business Administration, Industrial/Organisational Psychology or related field, attained from a recognised institution
• At least one (1) year of experience working in a generalist HR setup and the ability to handle highly confidential matters professionally and discreetly
• Proven ability to manage end to end recruitment processes with talent management skills
• Outstanding organizational skills and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
• Strong written and oral communication skills
• Demonstrated computer literacy (MS Office Suite: MS Excel, MS Word, MS PowerPoint and databases) with hands-on experience in tracking recruitment outcomes.

Other Information
• Location will be in Kampala or Gulu with travel to other branches and areas of expansion based on the organizational needs and workflow.
• Compensation is commensurate with experience. Additional benefits include health insurance, and professional development.
• We will agree to a 1 year contract with an extension possible based on organizational needs.
