About Organisation:
Uganda Christian University (UCU) is an authentic Christian institution established by the Church of Uganda in 1997 in response to a call for quality university education with a Christian perspective. Uganda Christian University replaced the historic Bishop Tucker Theological College which trained clergy and educators during its 84-year history from 1913-1997. The local chief, Hamu Mukasa, granted land for the college to operate in Mukono.
Qualifications and experience.
1. Must have a Bachelor’s degree in Human Resource Management from Uganda Christian University.
2. Must have graduated with a First Class or Second Class Upper not later than 2023.
3. Must be conversant with Uganda Labour Laws.
4. Must have excellent computer skills (Word, Excel, Access, Power Point and Internet).
5. Must have strong verbal and written communication skills.
6. Must have good interpersonal skills especially when dealing with students, staff and visitors.
7. Must be a person of high integrity with excellent working ethic.
8. Must be a committed and practicing Christian.
Key competencies and responsibilities.
1. Assist in keeping safe custody and filing of staff personnel files and documents.
2. Assist in updating staff files and data and opening new staff files.
3. Receiving job applications, processing and filing them accordingly.
4. Assist in updating the Human Resource Database.
5. Assist the Staff Welfare Officer in organizing and planning for staff events, functions and activities.
6. Receiving and reconciling payment projections and actual for Casual workers across the University.
7. Assist in organizing meetings within the Directorate of Human Resource & Administration.
8. Attending to immediate inquiries and queries made by staff, visitors and students.
9. Receiving mail/documents in the Directorate of Human Resource Administration.
10. Issuing various HR related forms to Support & Group staff.
11. Any other official duties as may be assigned by the supervisor.
