Job Description Hotel Housekeeping Staff

We are seeking diligent and detail-oriented individuals to join our housekeeping team at a hotel in Entebbe, Uganda. As a Housekeeping Staff member, you will be responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and orderliness of guest rooms and public areas, ensuring a comfortable and welcoming environment for all guests.​

Key Responsibilities:

• Room Maintenance: Clean and sanitize guest rooms, including making beds, changing linens, vacuuming carpets, cleaning floors, dusting furniture, and cleaning bathrooms. ​
• Restocking Supplies: Replenish room amenities such as towels, toiletries, and other supplies as needed.
• Public Area Cleanliness: Maintain cleanliness in public areas of the hotel, including lobbies, hallways, and restrooms. ​
• Laundry Duties: Handle laundry services, including washing, drying, and ironing linens and guests' clothing. ​
• Reporting Issues: Report any maintenance issues or safety hazards to the appropriate department promptly.​
• Guest Interaction: Provide courteous and professional service to guests, addressing any inquiries or requests promptly.​

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent.​ Bachelors degree is an added advantage
• Previous housekeeping or cleaning experience preferred.​
• Ability to work independently and efficiently.​
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.​
• Physical stamina to perform tasks such as lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods.​
• Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends and holidays.​

Preferred Skills:

• Familiarity with cleaning chemicals and supplies.​
• Basic understanding of sanitation and safety protocols.​
• Good communication skills and a friendly demeanor.​
