Description
The Ministry of Health (MOH) has received a grant from the Centers for Diseases Control and Prevention {CDC} Cooperative Agreement (CoAg), a strategic mechanism of the United States Government (USG) to implement activities in line with its mandate in support of the Public health response to HIV/AIDS and other health systems. CDC will be supporting a pool of Human Resources that are expected to lead the implementation of the grant. The staff to be recruited under this grant will be contracted by the MOH. The contracts are for one (1) year renewable subject to availability of funds and satisfactory performance of the staff.
Job Title: Health Informatics Specialist (1)
Reports to: Assistant Commissioner/Health Information
Job Purpose: Alignment of systems in the health sector with the eHealth policy and strategy under pillar 3 of the Health strategy.
Academic Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in Health Informatics, Health Science, Clinical science, Public Policy or Health Policy, Health Information Sciences, or closely related field from a recognized University,/Institution.
• Master’s degree in Public Health Informatics, Health Informatics or a related field
Experience
• At least six (6) years of experience in health informatics including public health practice. Uganda’s healthcare systems and practices, Public health reporting, information system standards
