Merryland Infant & Primary School is located in Kanyanya Gayaza Road.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
To plan for the school: 7%
- Termly / Annual work Plans School development plan.
To co-ordinate all curricular & co- curricular activities of the school: 20%
- Records of programme in a place e.g. MDD, sports, career guidance, counseling, remedial, excursions, projects etc. Timetables, Termly Report to SMC Academic, Welfare, Planning Committees, Termly report to SMC report to annual parent/ teachers, AGM annual report to Ministry of Education and Sports.
To co-ordinates all administrative activities of the school: 20%
- All SMC committee minutes & actions reports, SMC minutes & action reports, staff personnel files, disaggregated data on enrolment, end of term circulars, minutes of school committees. Approved Budget Estimates, Approved Audit Reports.
To coordinate discipline in the school: 5 %
- Report to SMC Discipline Committee
To monitor the performance of staff: 6%
- Record of submitted staff performance appraisals.
To coordinate pupils admission in the school: 6%
- Records of pupils’ admission, pupils’ personal files.
To promote leadership within the school: 5%
- School Vision, Mission statement & Motto, Record of staff development programme, active staff committees, active pupil’s prefectorial
To link the school with all stakeholders, the community around the school and even abroad: 6%
- To advertise the school and encourage / maintain good student numbers. Invitations, Announcements, Visitors’ Book, Donations, records of partners / network of friends, presentations made, reports of events attended, Certificates of attendance.
- Radio, TV, Newspaper adverts, brochures, calendars, T-Shirts, etc.
To ensure research & evaluation of the school programme is carried out: 5%
- Annual evaluation report, record of improved performance for both pupils & staff. Comparison of school performance with competing school.
To supervise the Bursar & coordinate class teacher on the fees payments by the pupils. 15%
- Enforce fees payment policies of the school.
- Monthly report on status in the bursary and a finance situation (e.g. income received, expenditure, outstanding financial obligations, state of book keeping).
- Communication to parents and Directors on status of fees payments.
To teach & evaluate pupils: 5%
- SoW, lesson plans, RoW tests, examinations, marking guides, records of pupils, attendance, and monthly report on teaching.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- The applicant must be a Grade 5 Primary School Teacher/ Degree
- Must be registered with Ministry of Education
- At least ten years of experience, five of which should have been at management level
- Good communication and presentation skills
- Leadership skills
- Analytical skills
- A self starter and driven to achieve
