Job Summary: We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Head of Science who will also teach iGCSE and IB Chemistry to our secondary school students. This is an exciting opportunity for a passionate educator to lead the Science department within our IB Diploma Programme curriculum.

Position: Head of Science / Teacher of iGCSE and IB Chemistry

Location: Kampala, Uganda

Education Stage: Key Stage 3,4 and DP

Department: Science

Curriculum: iGCSE/International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme (IB DP)

 

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage the Science department, ensuring high standards of teaching and learning.
  • Teach iGCSE and IB Chemistry courses effectively, inspiring students to achieve their best.
  • Develop curriculum plans aligned with IB DP requirements.
  • Support professional development for science staff members.
  • Foster a collaborative environment among teachers, students, and parents.
  • Monitor student progress and provide timely feedback.

 

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry or related field (minimum requirement).
  • At least 2 years teaching experience in secondary/high school settings.
  • Experience with the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme preferred.
  • Strong leadership skills with ability to manage teams effectively.
  • Excellent communication skills for interacting with students, parents, and colleagues.
  • Ability to inspire enthusiasm for science through innovative teaching methods.
