Position Overview:
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Head of Sales to lead the establishment and expansion of the Deutz-Fahr tractor business in Uganda. This pivotal role demands a strategic leader with a deep understanding of the agricultural machinery sector, a proven track record in sales leadership, and the ability to build and manage high-performing teams. The ideal candidate will drive market penetration, foster dealer relationships, and ensure the successful introduction of Deutz-Fahr products to the Ugandan market.
This role offers a unique opportunity to lead the introduction and growth of a premium tractor brand in a dynamic and expanding market. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in shaping the future of Deutz-Fahr in Uganda, driving innovation, and contributing to the advancement of the agricultural sector.
Key Responsibilities:
- Strategic Sales Leadership:
- Develop and execute a comprehensive sales strategy to establish and grow the Deutz-Fahr brand in Uganda.
- Set clear sales targets and KPIs, ensuring alignment with overall business objectives.
- Monitor and analyze market trends, competitor activities, and customer feedback to adjust strategies accordingly.
- Team Development and Management:
- Recruit, train, and mentor a high-performing sales team.
- Foster a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement within the sales department.
- Conduct regular performance reviews and provide constructive feedback to team members.
- Dealer Network Expansion:
- Identify and establish partnerships with key dealers and distributors across Uganda.
- Provide ongoing support and training to dealers to ensure effective product representation and customer service.
- Develop and implement dealer incentive programs to drive sales growth.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key customers, including large-scale farmers, cooperatives, and government agencies.
- Address customer inquiries and concerns promptly, ensuring high levels of satisfaction and loyalty.
- Organize product demonstrations and promotional events to showcase Deutz-Fahr tractors.Customer Relationship Management:
- Sales Operations and Reporting:
- Oversee the preparation of sales forecasts, budgets, and reports for senior management.
- Utilize CRM tools to track sales activities, pipeline status, and performance metrics.
- Ensure efficient inventory management and timely delivery of products to customers.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Agricultural Engineering, Business Administration, Marketing, or a related field.
- Minimum of 8 years of experience in sales leadership within the agricultural machinery or related industry.
- Proven track record of successfully launching and growing a product line in a new market.
- Strong understanding of the Ugandan agricultural landscape and customer needs.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and make strategic decisions.
- Fluency in English; proficiency in local languages is an advantage.
Preferred Experience:
- Experience with international brands such as Massey Ferguson or TAFE.
- Familiarity with the Deutz-Fahr product range and its competitive positioning.
- Background in dealer network development and management.
- Experience in organizing and executing agricultural trade shows and promotional events.
