Job Summary

The Job holder will be responsible for putting in place a competent, motivated team at the Agency and Branches that is able to aggressively and successfully promote UAP OLD MUTUAL business and achieve set performance targets.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Build and maintain an agency Branch and sales team that ensures that the company reaches all potential customers in the assigned work area
  • Grow, service and ensure collection of premiums from direct clients
  • Develop performance standards and processes, implement and monitor to ensure compliance with the set standards
  • Provide Branch and sales agents with rapid/quality support services including quotations, file management etc
  • Ensure that agents’ commission is computed correctly and paid on time
  • Follow up on branch and agent generated business to ensure expedient and accurate document preparation
  • Develop an effective management process for the branch and agency team and implement
  • Strengthen the role of unit managers and ensure smooth running of the agency team.
  • Help branch managers and agents to identify appropriate markets and marketing techniques and ensure that agents are professionally trained to sell and service the company products
  • Set progressive and realistic branch and agency goals in all areas of performance
  • Help branch managers and agents to develop/deliver professional presentations to potential customers.
  • Conduct regular joint fieldwork with branch managers to support their production efforts.
  • Host regular agency team workshops to communicate policy and develop team.
  • Set up and run systems to track activity and production.
  • Identify and develop partnerships with a set number of alternative channels.
  • Assume overall responsibility for the management and administration of the agency office so that it is a profitable one and operates in accordance with guidelines, plans and projections of the company
  • Ensure maximum utilization of all available company resources in all areas of management, agency development training and customer service
  • Sell through partner organizations to end users in coordination with partner sales resources.

Minimum qualifications and Work Experience:

  • University degree , ACII or equivalent plus a Diploma in Sales & Marketing
  • At least 3 years’ selling
  • Training in sales, customer service or equivalent experience
