Job Summary: The Head of the Human Resource Department leads and directs the routine functions of the Human Resource (HR) Department including managing the recruitment process, benefits, welfare, disciplinary procedures and staff performance management.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Plan, budget for the HR department
- Write, update or revise (as needed) policies related HR matters
- Disseminate HR related policies to all staff by organizing in school workshops and trainings as required
- Developing HR strategies in line with the overall strategic direction of the school
- Manage attendance, leave applications warning letters
- Manage the recruitment and selection process including drafting job adverts, referring qualified candidates to the relevant HODs, issuing contracts and onboarding and induction
- Handle disciplinary and grievance issues among school staff alongside relevant HoDs
- Oversee the performance management process for staff and ensuring all staff have been appraised and relevant steps taken to ensure that targets are being met
- Manage staff welfare including benefits like medical insurance, Workman’s compensation, Health and Safety and ensuring a positive work environment for all staff
- Ensure staff files are maintained and updated
- Assist expatriate staff in obtaining and extending work permits
- Bachelors Degree in Human Resource Management, Labour Relations, Organisational Psychology Or related
- Masters Degree in Human Resource Management or related is an added advantage
- 5 years’ experience in Human Resource Management
- Experience in an International School is an added advantage
