Human Capital Business Solutions Ltd is a Boutique Human Resources Consultancy Firm that specializes in strategic HR Consulting, Talent Acquisition & Development, Risk Management and Business Process Outsourced Services with our Headquarters based in Uganda and Country Office in Tanzania.

Our client is a leading business process outsourced firm with a presence in Tanzania, Rwanda and Southern Sudan is looking for a competent and experienced Head of Finance to be based in Kampala, Uganda.

Position overview

The Head of Finance will be responsible for budgeting, reporting, auditing, and financial planning, as well as advising senior management on fiscal strategy.

Overseeing the budgeting and financial forecasting processes, developing strategies to maximize ROI, and ensuring that the company’s financial reports are accurate and comply with all laws and regulations.

Ensuring that the company has the funds needed to achieve its business goals, manages investment strategies, and proposes action plans to ensure the financial sustainability of the business.

Preparing and presenting financial reports to the top management or directors and providing insights about the company’s financial health and stability.

Reports To: The Managing Director

Main Duties and Responsibilities

• Developing and implementing financial strategies for the company
• Ensuring compliance with financial laws, guidelines and standards
• Monitoring financial performance by measuring and analyzing results
• Guiding financial decisions by establishing, monitoring, and enforcing internal controls
• Coordinating with external auditors and manage internal controls
• Providing leadership to the finance department team
• Engaging with senior management to develop short, medium, and long-term financial plans and projections
• Overseeing cash flow planning and ensure availability of funds as needed
• Overseeing the financial strategy and budgeting process of the organization
• Manage the company’s financial planning and risk management
• Prepare, analyze and present monthly, quarterly and annual financial reports and risk analysis
• Develop and implement financial policies and procedures to ensure operational efficiency
• Manage relationships with auditors, banks, Clients and other relevant business stakeholders.
• Identify opportunities for cost savings and revenue generation

Academic/Professional qualifications, work experience, knowledge & skills

Qualifications Required:

• A Bachelor’s degree in finance, economics, accounting, business administration, or other related field. MBA or Certification in CFA, CPA or ACCA shall be an added advantage.
• Work experience in a similar role of 7 years and above
• Should have a comprehensive understanding of financial regulations, financial planning and analysis, budget management, and financial reporting.
• Proven experience in financial management and accounting
• Solid knowledge of financial analysis and forecasting.
• Proficient in the use of MS Office and financial management software (e.g. SAGE, SAP etc.)
• Excellent organizational and leadership skills.
• Outstanding communication and interpersonal abilities.
• Proven experience in a similar role, ideally within our industry
• Excellent knowledge of data analysis and forecasting methods
• Ability to strategize and solve problems
• An analytical mind, comfortable with numbers and with superior strategic ability
