Key Duties and Responsibilities:

• To develop, execute, scale, entrench and commercialize the Energy and Infrastructure strategy by deploying locally relevant client value propositions for Business and Commercial Banking Uganda.

• Accountable for the achievement of the sector’s financial and non-financial metrics (e.g. client attrition, profit growth and return on investment, etc.) in line with Business and Commercial Banking in close collaboration all segment heads and Product Partners

• Lead the Energy and Infrastructure team to, source, prepare pitches and pull research on the Energy and Infrastructure sector to improve product and risk appetite initiatives.

• Develop and maintain strong relationships with key clients and guiding the relationship managers in development and execution of client plans.

• Enable integrated ways of working and collaboration across the value chain (Corporate & Investment Banking, Personal and Private Banking as well as the various BCB segments) to deliver for the client.

• Develop critical and strategic relationships within the Private sector, Public sector and Development partners for lead generation as well as influence favorable policy changes for lending into the sector.

• Facilitate working partnership with Senior Credit Stakeholders to stimulate sustainable business growth without compromising risk and the quality of lending.

• Monitor the external environment to identify any trends and developments which might have an influence on the risk/ compliance environment or present a business opportunity. Define and own the sector and sub-sector risk appetite.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

• First Degree in Business Commerce or related from a recognised Institution

• 8-10 years experience in Business and Commercial Banking, including the design and development of customer value propositions; identifying key drivers of income and cost lines.

• Experience in successfully growing the customer base, managing and growing a balance sheet and income statement.

• Proficient in the design and understanding of data management, analytics and business intelligence.

• Experience with products and processes across multiple segments and platforms.

• Experience in credit fundamentals and preparing credit papers. Understands the digital landscape and digitisation strategies that enable an enhanced customer experience.
