Church Commissioners Holding Company Limited (CCHCL) is a company established by the Church of Uganda (COU) as her business arm for purposes of mobilizing resources to support the Mission of the Church. CCHCL seeks to recruit a suitable, knowledgeable, dynamic and competent person for the position of Group Chief Executive Officer (GCEO).

The Position: Group Chief Executive Officer (GCEO).
Reports to: Board of Directors
Supervises: Company Management
Duty station: COU, Provincial Secretariat

Job purpose
• Plan, coordinate, direct and account for all programs and activities at CCHCL
• Provide strategic leadership, direction and management of CCHCL
• Ensure that CCHCL is financially sound
• Mobilize resources for supporting the mission of the Church

• Legal and policy compliance
• Good corporate image of CCHCL
• Effective management of CCHCL estate/property

Key responsibilities:
Key responsibilities for the jobholder will include but not limited to:
Strategic Leadership
• Lead the development and implementation CCHCL’s strategic plan
• Advise the company Board on various strategic matters
• Be secretary to the Board

Board Administration and Support
• Support and facilitate Board processes, operations and administration
• Develop and recommend policies to the Board
• Provide regular and up-to-date information to the Board
• Ensure that Board meetings are conducted on schedule, reports and minutes prepared and distributed on time
• Ensure the Board meets its obligations to the shareholders as prescribed in the Articles and MoU and Terms of Reference

Management
• Oversee the day-to-day operations of the Companies and ensure sustainability for the mission of Cou
• Implement CCHCL vision and mission
• Prepare and ensure implementation of approved CCHCL work plans
• Effectively manage:
1. Human Resources of CCHCL according to HR Policies and procedures that fully conform to current national laws, regulations and COU policies
2. Financial resources of CCHCL (Be the Chief Accounting Officer)
3. Physical resources and estate of CCHCL
4. Grow and maintain Cou investments
• Recommend annual work plans and budgets for Board Approval
• Prudently manage CCHCL’s financial resources as approved and in accordance with the company’s policies
• Oversee company projects and programs
• Organize and facilitate Annual General Meetings in consultation with the Board Chairman
• Communicate on behalf of CCHCL with internal and external stakeholders

Public Relations
• Interface between the Board, Management, Staff, Dioceses and all stakeholders
• Ensure smooth and timely communication between the Board and the Company, subsidiary companies and all stakeholders

Diocesan Support: Extend support to Dioceses:
• On land matters
• In undertaking and management of investments

Compliance: Ensure the CCHCL abides by the national laws, CoU policies and other related guidelines at all times
Any other related duties as may be assigned from time to time

Desired qualifications, competencies and person specifications:
• A Master’s Degree in any of the following disciplines from a recognized University: Business Administration/Management / Finance / Accounts/ Economics/Development Studies / Law / Engineering / Project Planning / Management A minimum of 10 years working experience, 5 years of which should have been in a related field in a senior management position in a large institution
• A high degree of self-drive, motivation and results oriented
• Ability to multi-task ,handle work pressure and meet tight deadlines
• Excellent computer and communication skills
• A practicing and committed Christian to Church of Uganda
• Preferred age range is 35 – 55 years old
• High level of integrity
• A decision maker and visionary leader

Employment terms:
• Three years contract, renewable depending on performance.
• Competitive remuneration
