About Bodmando Consulting Group
Bodmando Consulting Group is a registered international development and humanitarian consulting enterprise headquartered in Wakiso district, Central Uganda but with a team of 15 field staff spread across East and West Africa, South Asia and the MENA region. We are a women led research institution that designs innovative solutions to tackle poverty, health inequities, gender inequality and social injustice. Our expertise is built on the premises of systems thinking, human centred design and intersectionality. Bodmando’s technical services include Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning, Policy, Strategy and Programme Design, Institutional Strengthening, Capacity Building and Development of Toolkits. Our research team is composed of multidisciplinary staff with a technical background in several thematic areas. Bodmando is sensitive to Gender Equality and Social Inclusion and in this regard, 80% of our staff are women, people with disabilities and other marginalized populations.

Bodmando researchers have supported several projects in over 16 countries across 4 continents through physical, remote and hybrid mechanisms. Our data assemblage and insight capabilities have enabled the generation of evidence that has transformed the lives of marginalized communities. We have a global presence with a strong network of several civil society organisations including community-based organisations, international NGOS, national NGOs, governments, donors, the private sector, and other development partners. Bodmando researchers are fluent in English and other languages e.g., Luganda, Kiswahili, Sign Language, French, Spanish, Arabic, & Hindi.

Overall Responsibility
The Graphics/Web Designer will provide technical support in the editing of reports and graphical design using a wide range of media and graphical design software in addition to web design and content update.

Duties and responsibilities shall include:
• Using Word Press, create website designs that are appealing, user-friendly, and optimized for SEO
• Develop website prototypes to test user experience and usability

• Monitor website performance to identify areas of improvement

• Ensure that web page designs meet the requirements and goals set forth by the business development teams
• Stay up-to-date with current design trends and technologies
• Update website content as needed
• Develop innovative graphic designs that meet business goals
• Obtain input from managers to ensure that designs meet organizational standards

• Participate in graphical design of evaluation reports, policy briefs and any other technical writings.

• Establish creative direction for the company within brand guidelines
• Manage multiple projects within design specifications and budget restrictions
• Determine voice and messaging for graphic design pieces
• Support new business development activities such as RFI and RFP submittals

• Perform any other duties as shall be assigned by your line manager.

Qualifications
• Diploma or Degree in a creative field such as Graphics
• Design, IT, amongst others. Please note that we are flexible with academic qualifications as long as a candidate can demonstrate strong skills in graphics/web design.

Knowledge and experience
• At least 1 year of experience in graphics/web design and using programs such as Word Press, Adobe Suite, Photoshop,
• InDesign, QuarkXPress, Canvas and Illustrator

Skills and attributes
• Strong skills in graphical design and using graphical; design software (Adobe Suite, Photoshop, InDesign, QuarkXPress, and Illustrator)
• Proficiency with HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and other web design languages
• Strong ability to use Word Press
• Able to work with a variety of content management systems
• Strong editing and proof reading skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Knowledge of layouts, graphic fundamentals, typography, print, and web
• Strong prioritization and organizational skills
• Experience with both print and digital media
