Job Title: Graphic Designer(Fluent/Native in written German)
About the Role
We’re looking for a highly creative and self-sufficient Graphic Designer (German-speaking or Fluent/native in written German) to join our lean, fast-paced e-commerce team. This remote role will focus on producing high-converting static ad creatives, product mockups, packaging designs, and branded visuals across digital and print touchpoints. You’ll play a key role in supporting our growth by taking full ownership of all non-video visual content, helping relieve design pressure from the Founder and video editor. The ideal candidate is fluent in written German, comfortable using AI tools like Midjourney or Leonardo, and thrives in startup environments where initiative, speed, and creative problem-solving are essential.
Key Responsibilities
- Design high-converting static ads for Meta and TikTok.
- Create product mockups, thank you cards, packaging artwork, and website graphics.
- Use AI tools (e.g., Midjourney, Sora, Leonardo) to produce compelling visuals when product shots are unavailable.
- Collaborate with (Founder) and (Content Strategist) on weekly creative briefs and ongoing campaign requirements.
- Ensure native-level written German accuracy in all graphics—spoken fluency is not required.
- Maintain and organize visual assets in a shared design system or file structure.
- Spot the patterns behind top-performing ads and use them to create new winners on demand.
Ideal Candidate Profile
- Fluent/native in written German—must be capable of producing error-free German copy in creatives.
- Proven experience designing for direct-to-consumer (DTC) brands, especially in paid social or conversion-driven design.
- Highly self-motivated, delivers on time, adapts quickly, and proactively works on the next design with minimal oversight
- Competent in AI image generation tools and prompt writing (or willing to learn).
- Proficient in any mainstream design software: Photoshop, Canva, Figma, or similar.
- Comfortable adapting creative concepts based on performance feedback or testing outcomes.
- Understands e-commerce marketing dynamics and the psychology of scroll-stopping visuals.
Team Structure & Collaboration
- Reports to: (Founder)
- Collaborates with: (Content Strategist), video editor
- Will attend weekly calls, communicate via Slack, and manage priorities based on briefs and campaign timelines.
- Clear and proactive communication is critical—especially when briefs are ambiguous or deadlines shift.
Client Preferences & Notes
- Independence is non-negotiable—must be able to think creatively, solve problems, and own your outcomes.
- We’ve experienced challenges with passive designers who over-rely on detailed instructions or miss deadlines.
- The Founder values contributors who ask smart questions, bring creative input to the table, and anticipate needs before they’re voiced.
- Onboarding will include 2–3 weeks of support, but full autonomy is expected afterward.
