Program Summary
The Delivering Resilient Enterprises and Market Systems (DREAMS) program is a collaboration between three leading organizations in the field of global poverty alleviation: Village Enterprise, Mercy Corps, and IDinsight. The DREAMS program aims to improve the well-being of 150,000 women, children, and men over the course of the five years. Targeting refugees and host community members in the West Nile region of Uganda. DREAMS innovative approach will layer two evidence-based models – poverty graduation and market systems development to achieve increased household income, savings, and assets while improving food security and wellbeing. Poverty Graduation will provide the capital and skills to support refugees as they establish their businesses, and Market Systems Development will help build market access pathways to ensure those businesses can be successful
General Position Summary
The Monitoring, Evaluation, and Learning (MEL) Intern will work with the Mercy Corps DREAMS program team to ensure the entry and verification of all program data. S/he will ensure that all program data submitted by the PSAs are accurately entered into the appropriate system. The intern will ensure the proper labeling and filling of the program MoVs as directed by the MEL Officer. Under the supervision of the Senior MEL Officer, s/he will be part of the DREAMS MEL team and contribute towards having a complete and up-to-date program database.
Essentials Roles and Responsibilities.
• Ensure entry of backlog and subsequent data into the system as guided.
• Ensure proper filling of MoVs for each partner as directed.
• Support MEL Officer in the verification of data submitted for filing and entry.
• Provide weekly updates on completed assignments and progress.
• Participate in the post-entry data quality verifications and cleaning.
• Work with the Senior MEL Officer to consolidate DREAMS databases for upload to the drive.
• Be responsible for ensuring that equipment, especially the computer assigned for data entry, is safe and maintained in working order.
• Actively follow all Mercy Corps’ Policies and regulations, and maintain an awareness and observation of research ethics, and health and safety regulations.
• Maintain utmost confidentiality of all the program data both in the hard copy and in soft copy.
• Support the program team to scan MoVs as they are collected from the field.
• Conduct and complete assignments with a high level of professionalism, showing up on time, acting respectfully towards others, showing enthusiasm, and a strong team spirit.
• Carry out any other duties as are within the scope, spirit, and purpose of the job as requested by the line supervisor.
Accountability to Beneficiaries
• Mercy Corps team members are expected to support all efforts toward accountability, specifically to our beneficiaries and to international standards guiding international relief and development work, while actively engaging beneficiary communities as equal partners in the design, monitoring, and evaluation of our field projects.
• Sensitize communities on the DREAM’s CARM system and encourage them to share feedback through the promoted channels.
Minimum Qualification & Transferable Skills
• Bachelor’s degree in Statistics, Quantitative Economics, Economics and Statistics, Actuarial Science, Commerce, Business Administration-Accounting, Science in Accounting, Finance and Accounting, Project Management, Social Work and Social Administration, Development Studies, Community Psychology, Public Health, Demography & Reproductive Health or related field.
• Must have acquired at least a Second-Class upper degree from a recognized University or institution.
• Should have Graduated between the years 2022 and 2024 with a transcript available.
