Job Summary:   The Graduate Trainee in Monitoring and Evaluation will support the M&E team in designing, implementing, and managing monitoring and evaluation activities for various projects. This position is ideal for a recent graduate looking to gain hands-on experience in M&E practices, data collection, analysis, and reporting.

 

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

Data Collection and Management:

  • Assist in designing data collection tools and methodologies.
  • Participate in field data collection activities, ensuring data accuracy and completeness.
  • Manage and organize datasets, ensuring data quality and integrity.

 Data Analysis and Reporting:

  • Support the analysis of quantitative and qualitative data using statistical software (e.g., SPSS, STATA, Excel, R).
  • Contribute to the preparation of M&E reports, presentations, and visualizations.
  • Assist in the development of case studies, success stories, and lessons learned.

Project Support:

  • Support the development of project log frames, M&E plans, and performance monitoring plans.
  • Assist in tracking project performance indicators and progress towards targets

Capacity Building:

  • Assist in organizing and conducting M&E training sessions for project staff and partners.
  • Support the development of M&E training materials and resources.

Administrative Support:

  • Provide administrative support to the M&E team, including scheduling meetings, preparing minutes, and coordinating logistics for field visits.
  • Assist in maintaining M&E documentation and filing systems.

 

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

 Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Statistics, Quantitative Economics, Public Health, or a related field. A Masters degree is an advantage but not required.

Skills and Competencies:

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Familiarity with statistical software (SPSS, STATA, R, Python)
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Experience:

  • Prior experience or internships in M&E, research, or related fields is an advantage.
  • Knowledge of M&E concepts, frameworks, and methodologies is preferred.
