JOB DETAILS:
B1. Overall Purpose of the Job
To support the section on electrical activities while on training.

Key Responsibilities
1. Overhead Line Maintenance:
o Construct, repair, and maintain all overhead lines on the estate (33 kV–11 kV).
o Trace and clear faults on the overhead grid and system.
2. Fabrication and Installation:
o Arrange necessary fabrications as advised by management.
o Supervise the installation of new supply poles and security lights within the estate.
3. Reporting and Documentation:
o Prepare and submit relevant periodic reports on section activities and work progress.

o Maintain accurate records in routine logbooks for shift activities.
4. Breakdown and Fault Management:
o Coordinate the repair and rectification of all breakdown contingencies.
o Ensure the smooth functioning of electrical systems throughout the production process.

o Monitor and diagnose faults along the process flow line to maintain electrical control parameters at normal levels.
5. Equipment Maintenance:
o Coordinate the general overhauling of electrical equipment in the workshop during off-crop periods and major shutdowns.

C. Knowledge, Qualifications, and Experience
C1.1 Education:
• Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or its equivalent from a recognised institution.
Required Skills and Competencies:
1. Communication Skills:
o The position demands constant interactions with employees, management, and stakeholders throughout the business and, therefore, communication skills are an absolute necessity.
2. MS Office Proficiency:
o Proficiency in Ms Word, Ms Excel, and PowerPoint is necessary for creating visually and verbally engaging materials, reports, presentations, and proposals for departmental heads and management stakeholders.
3. Analytical Skills:
o Capable of gathering and interpreting raw information and data, documenting findings, and drawing appropriate recommendations.
4. Interpersonal Skills:
o A helpful, calm, and professional individual who demonstrates calmness during times of uncertainty.
5. People Skills:
o An individual who can garner the trust and respect of departmental heads and management.
