ORGANIZATIONAL OVERVIEW:
HealthRight International is a leading global health organization committed to enhancing access to high-quality healthcare systems for marginalized communities worldwide. DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES:
Partnership Development:
o Build and maintain relationships with funding organizations, NGOs, government entities, and private sector partners to support the organization’s mission
o Serve as the organization’s primary representative in East Africa, advocating for partnership opportunities that align with the strategic objectives of the organization

o Actively seek out and cultivate new partnerships with local and international stakeholders to expand the nonprofit’s network and resources in the region
o Fundraising & Resource Mobilization:
o Identify and pursue grant opportunities from local, regional, and international donors, foundations, and government bodies
o Collaborate with the Grants Manager and other global team members to design and submit compelling funding proposals, tailored to specific grant requirements and regional needs

o Develop and execute fundraising strategies that leverage the organization’s relationships with donors, partners, and government agencies to maximize financial support
o Strategic Planning:
o Develops and executes a strategic plan for the growth and sustainability of funds, including budgeting, resource allocation, and long-term planning
o Contribute to the organization’s regional strategy by identifying opportunities for growth, resource expansion, and program sustainability in East Africa
o Assist in the development of long-term fundraising and partnership goals that align with the nonprofit’s broader global mission and regional objectives

Stakeholder Engagement:
Engage with government representatives, funding bodies, and community leaders to advocate for the nonprofit’s programs and initiatives
o Provide regular updates to the CEO and global team on the status of partnerships, fundraising progress, and regional opportunities
o Attend regional and international conferences, networking events, and forums to represent the organization and build key relationships

Collaboration with Global Team:
o Work in close collaboration with the Grants Manager and other members of the global development team to ensure a unified approach to fundraising and program development
o Share knowledge and insights on regional trends, partner opportunities, and the funding landscape with global colleagues to inform global strategy

Leadership and Management:
o Interfaces with leadership in HQ and Kenya and Uganda offices to start
o Oversees grants management and other Africa based team responsible for business development activities

SKILLS:
o Ability to work both independently and as part of a global team
o Adept in critical thinking and possess excellent interpersonal, oral, and written  communication skills
o Comfortable working in a dynamic, global, and fast-paced environment with time- sensitive demands
o Commitment to sharing knowledge, documenting experiences, supporting creative initiatives, and teamwork
o Demonstrated success in securing grants and funding from a range of sources, including foundations, governments, and private donors
o Detail-oriented with a proactive and solution-driven mindset
o Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities
o Excellent  communication, interpersonal, and diplomatic skills: the ability to effectively liaise with colleagues in a diverse multi-cultural environment
o Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to craft persuasive proposals and presentations
o Familiarity with the political and economic landscape of East Africa, including • knowledge of health, education, and social development challenges in the region
o Solid organizational skills, attention to • detail, deadline-oriented, ability to handle projects simultaneously, and work well with others
