Job Description

Reporting to the Manager Development Services, this role will see you responsible for the management of the City’s spatial information services and databases.

Desired Skills And Experience

The successful candidate must be competent to;

• Think strategically and act with a long-term perspective, ensuring that plans and outcomes contribute to City of Albany strategic priorities;
• Relate well to others, listen, understand and adapt to different audiences; and
• Ensure the required level of quality, taking any project or task through to completion including analysing and adopting lessons learnt for future work.

The proven technical knowledge required includes;

• Spatial systems and software including ArcGIS Pro;
• ETL (Extract, Transform & Load) tools such as FME;
• Spatial data formats and geometries, including CAD, SQL and 3D;
• Spatial analysis and queries, including SQL Spatial queries and advanced modelling and analysis processes;
• Managing ArcGIS Enterprise and Online, and all related applications;
• Systems and software development lifecycles and project management; and
• Knowledge of programming languages including Python and Arcade.

If you have a tertiary qualification in GIS, Land Information Systems or an equivalent Associate Diploma in GIS, at least 5 years’ experience in a similar role and are passionate about working for the City of Albany please apply.
