Position Summary:
The General Manager of Operations will oversee the day-to-day operations of the company, ensuring efficiency, profitability, and compliance with company policies and industry regulations. The successful candidate will be responsible for strategic planning, operational management, and leading a team of professionals to achieve operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities:
Operational Leadership:
- Oversee daily operations to ensure smooth and efficient functioning.
- Develop and implement operational policies and procedures to improve productivity and service quality.
- Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and operational metrics to identify areas for improvement.
Strategic Planning:
- Collaborate with the executive team to develop and execute the company’s strategic plan.
- Identify opportunities for growth and expansion in existing and new markets.
- Lead initiatives to optimize operational processes and reduce costs.
Team Management:
- Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing operations team.
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement, accountability, and customer focus.
- Ensure effective communication and collaboration across departments.
Financial Management:
- Manage the operations budget, including forecasting, budgeting, and financial reporting.
- Analyze financial data to assess operational performance and make informed decisions.
- Ensure all operations are cost-effective and align with financial goals.
Compliance and Risk Management:
- Ensure compliance with industry regulations, company policies, and legal requirements.
- Identify and mitigate operational risks through proactive management and continuous monitoring.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of regulatory changes and industry best practices.
Customer Experience:
- Enhance the customer experience by ensuring high service standards and quick resolution of issues.
- Implement initiatives to improve customer satisfaction and loyalty.
- Monitor customer feedback and implement improvements based on insights.
Technology and Innovation:
- Oversee the implementation and maintenance of operational technologies and systems.
- Promote innovation to enhance operational efficiency and competitive advantage.
- Ensure data integrity and security across all operational systems.
Qualifications and experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Operations Management, Telecommunications, or a related field. MBA or equivalent advanced degree preferred.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in operations management, with at least 5 years in a leadership role within the telecommunications industry.
- Proven track record of success in managing large-scale operations and leading cross-functional teams.
- Strong financial acumen and experience in budget management.
- Excellent strategic planning, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- In-depth knowledge of industry regulations, compliance, and best practices.
- Exceptional leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in using operational management software and tools.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience with mobile virtual network operators (MVNOs) or mobile network operators (MNOs).
- Knowledge of digital transformation and technological advancements in the telecom industry.
- Strong project management skills and experience in implementing operational initiatives.
