Position Summary: 

The General Manager of Operations will oversee the day-to-day operations of the company, ensuring efficiency, profitability, and compliance with company policies and industry regulations. The successful candidate will be responsible for strategic planning, operational management, and leading a team of professionals to achieve operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities: 

Operational Leadership:

  • Oversee daily operations to ensure smooth and efficient functioning.
  • Develop and implement operational policies and procedures to improve productivity and service quality.
  • Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and operational metrics to identify areas for improvement.

Strategic Planning: 

  • Collaborate with the executive team to develop and execute the company’s strategic plan.
  • Identify opportunities for growth and expansion in existing and new markets.
  • Lead initiatives to optimize operational processes and reduce costs.

Team Management: 

  • Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing operations team.
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement, accountability, and customer focus.
  • Ensure effective communication and collaboration across departments.

Financial Management: 

  • Manage the operations budget, including forecasting, budgeting, and financial reporting.
  • Analyze financial data to assess operational performance and make informed decisions.
  • Ensure all operations are cost-effective and align with financial goals.

Compliance and Risk Management: 

  • Ensure compliance with industry regulations, company policies, and legal requirements.
  • Identify and mitigate operational risks through proactive management and continuous monitoring.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of regulatory changes and industry best practices.

Customer Experience: 

  • Enhance the customer experience by ensuring high service standards and quick resolution of issues.
  • Implement initiatives to improve customer satisfaction and loyalty.
  • Monitor customer feedback and implement improvements based on insights.

Technology and Innovation: 

  • Oversee the implementation and maintenance of operational technologies and systems.
  • Promote innovation to enhance operational efficiency and competitive advantage.
  • Ensure data integrity and security across all operational systems.

Qualifications and experience: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Operations Management, Telecommunications, or a related field. MBA or equivalent advanced degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in operations management, with at least 5 years in a leadership role within the telecommunications industry.
  • Proven track record of success in managing large-scale operations and leading cross-functional teams.
  • Strong financial acumen and experience in budget management.
  • Excellent strategic planning, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • In-depth knowledge of industry regulations, compliance, and best practices.
  • Exceptional leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in using operational management software and tools.

Preferred Skills: 

  • Experience with mobile virtual network operators (MVNOs) or mobile network operators (MNOs).
  • Knowledge of digital transformation and technological advancements in the telecom industry.
  • Strong project management skills and experience in implementing operational initiatives.
