We are currently seeking a highly motivated and experienced professional to join us as the General Manager - Coffee. This leadership role is pivotal in driving our coffee trading business to new heights.

Job Summary:

As the General Manager - Coffee, you will be the key leader responsible for overseeing the profitability of our coffee trading activities. Your role involves cultivating and maintaining relationships with suppliers and buyers, monitoring market trends, and strategically managing the coffee supply chain. You will play a crucial role in continuous improvement efforts, ensuring value creation for the company.

Responsibilities:

• Cultivate and maintain relationships with coffee suppliers and buyers, collaborating closely with operations and logistics teams.
• Monitor market trends, develop supply and demand scenarios, and capitalize on trading opportunities.
• Develop and implement a coffee buying strategy, focusing on supply and price risk management.
• Manage, train, and mentor team members.
• Recruit, orient, set KPIs, and appraise coffee factory employees in collaboration with the Human Resources Manager.
• Manage the factory fleet of vehicles.
• Analyze and resolve process and cost improvement opportunities across the business unit.
• Maintain a strong safety culture and adhere to safety policies, procedures, and regulations.
• Maximize profitability through effective management of coffee inventory.
• Accept additional responsibilities and duties as directed by the Chief Operations Manager.

Education & Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree preferred in Business, Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Operations Management, or a related field.
• 8-10 years of trading experience in the commodity market, especially coffee.
• Understanding of standard shipping practices.
• Knowledge of commodity markets, contractual terms, and truck transportation/logistics.
• Very good knowledge and insights into the coffee industry and its supply and demand dynamics.

Required Skills/Abilities:

• Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite.
• Working knowledge of cash commodity trading and prior experience in buying and selling coffee/grains is required.
• Excellent negotiation skills.
• Proven experience leading a team to achieve and maintain goals in a positive work environment.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Excellent communication and people skills.
• Ability and willingness to work longer hours as business conditions warrant.
• Valid driver’s license.
