Background information about the job or company:

Octagon Uganda is hiring a Fund Accountant responsible for the accurate financial management, reporting of investment schemes and overseeing financial operations of schemes.

Responsibilities or duties:

• Investment Accounting and Fund Accounts
• Preparation
• Reconciliation and Scheme Billing
• Tax Administration and accurate filing of tax returns
• Prepare audit data and Coordinate with auditors and scheme stakeholders to facilitate smooth audit progress
• File annual returns for schemes with UBRA
• File and follow up on Tax Compliance Certificates for schemes (TCC)
• Attend Board of Trustees meetings and present financial statements

Qualifications or requirements:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounts, Commerce, Finance, Mathematics or a Business-related field from a recognized institution
• 4-5 years of professional experience in accounting or finance roles, with at least 2 years in Fund accounting
• CPA or ACCA qualification is a must
