JOB DETAILS:
Urban Greens is seeking a highly motivated and independent freelance part-time Field Marketing Officer to join our team. This role is crucial for our growth as we aim to penetrate new markets, specifically focusing on women’s groups, churches, and community organizations in urban areas. The ideal candidate will be a proactive go-getter responsible for field activations, lead generation, and organizing small-scale events. This is a part-time position, requiring a commitment of 2 days per week.
Key Responsibilities
- Field Activations & Events: Identify, secure, and participate in a minimum of 2–3 relevant community events per month, such as women’s gatherings, church events, or local community events.
- Marketing & Visibility: Distribute a minimum of 100 flyers and brochures monthly in targeted, high-traffic areas.
- Community Engagement & Demos: Facilitate or support 2–3 product demos per month at events or community meetings. Capture at least 10 participant sign-ups per event for our sales team to follow up on.
- Market Insights: Collect and report on feedback from all events per month, including contact details, feedback, and areas for improvement. Share insights on new collaboration opportunities or event platforms.
- Reporting: Submit a weekly activity plan detailing event identification, workplan, and budget requirements.
Qualifications
- Experience: 1–2 years of experience in field marketing, community engagement, or sales. Experience working with women’s groups or community organizations is a strong plus.
- Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Must be comfortable and confident speaking to groups and engaging with diverse community members.
- Self-Motivation: A high degree of initiative and discipline. The ability to work independently, manage a flexible schedule, and proactively identify opportunities is essential.
- Local Knowledge: In-depth familiarity with the Kampala urban landscape, including key community hubs, organizations, and potential event venues.
- Technology: Basic proficiency with smartphone technology for photo-based and online reporting and location tracking. Affinity with urban farming and sustainability is a plus.
