Job Summary:
The Foundation in Travel and Tourism Instructor prepares students for careers in the travel and tourism sector by teaching foundational concepts, industry practices, and customer service skills.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver training on the fundamentals of travel and tourism, including global geography and ticketing systems.
- Teach industry-standard practices such as itinerary planning, travel documentation, and visa processing.
- Provide an understanding of customer service, cultural awareness, and sales strategies.
- Incorporate practical activities like role-plays and project-based learning.
- Evaluate and monitor student performance through assignments and assessments.
- Stay updated with advancements in travel and tourism technologies and integrate them into teaching.
Requirements:
- Diploma or degree in Travel and Tourism, Hospitality, or a related field.
- 2-3 years of experience in the travel and tourism industry or training.
- Certification in travel and tourism (e.g., IATA Foundation in Travel and Tourism).
- Strong knowledge of global geography, ticketing systems, and itinerary planning.
- Excellent communication, customer service, and instructional skills.
- Proficiency in using travel-related software and tools (e.g., Amadeus, Galileo).
- Experience in adult education or curriculum development is a plus.
All instructors should also possess:
- Strong proficiency in English (oral and written).
- Advanced computer skills, particularly in training tools and software.
- A passion for teaching and mentoring students to achieve their career goals.
