JOB DETAILS:

Job Purpose

Responsible for operating and maintaining heavy-duty vehicles to transport goods and materials safely and efficiently. The role requires strict adherence to traffic regulations, safety guidelines, and company policies to ensure the secure delivery of cargo.

Responsibilities/Key Deliverables

• Operate heavy-duty vehicles, such as trucks, trailers, or specialized equipment, in a safe and responsible manner, adhering to all traffic rules and regulations.
• Load, transport, and unload various goods and materials, ensuring that they are securely fastened and protected during transit.
• Perform routine checks and maintenance on assigned vehicles, including checking oil, water, and other fluid levels, as well as inspecting brakes, tires, and lights.
• Complete all required paperwork, including delivery logs, mileage records, and inspection reports, accurately and in a timely manner.
• Follow safety guidelines, including the proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE), and report any safety hazards or incidents promptly.
• Plan and follow the most efficient and safe routes for transportation, considering traffic conditions, weather, and vehicle capabilities.
• Interact professionally with customers and vendors during deliveries, ensuring a positive representation of the company.
• Respond to emergency situations such as accidents or breakdowns, following established procedures for reporting and seeking assistance.
• Adhere to company policies, state and federal regulations, and industry standards related to transportation and vehicle operation.

Person Specifications

Education & Training

• Operate lowbed/flatbed/dumping/water truck
• Valid driving permit of classes up to CE or CH
• Valid Defensive driving certificate
• Medical Fitness To work

Skills & Experience

• Minimum 4 to 7 years of relevant working experience in reputable organisation
