Job Title: Financial Inclusion Officer
Reports To: Branch Manager
Reports to (Functional): Product Associate – Group Lending
SUMMARY Job Profile
The role of the Financial Inclusion Officer (FIO) is to promote the growth of clients and the portfolio in the group methodology through mobilization of new potential customers to grow the group lending portfolio and provide financial literacy trainings to the group customers as part of a preparation process as the clients take up FINCA credit group loans products.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES
Include the following:
- Together with the Branch Manager, the FIO draws up monthly plans in the identified catchment locations where sales and marketing activities such as community sales drives, focus group discussions, marketing drives and door to door have been conducted.
- Together with the Branch Manager, the FIO draws up a the monthly 3 pack training session for each of the identified groups’ of potential customers for the group lending product to achieve the monthly required targets.
- Training.
1. Financial literacy training of Groups identified.
- Train clients about FINCA Group SMG Methodology, expectations from FINCA, terms and conditions
- Guide the groups in selection of their leaders and group governance principles.
- Emphasize the group formation, cohesion/solidarity and record keeping during trainings.
- Finally to evaluate if the group members are ready to take up FINCA financial services.
- The FIO Implements the schedule of action work plans agreed at the beginning of each month and provides weekly feedback to his/her direct supervisor, the Branch Manager with a dotted line to the product associate.
- The FIO Must acquire excellent product knowledge of FINCA Uganda’s products and key knowledge on FINCA’s competitors in the market or area of operation;
- It is important to note that the FIO’s responsibility is to stay updated with the changes related to the group lending features that might affect the client.
- The FIO Must disseminate transparent communication to the potential customer.
- The FIO is responsible to achieve the individual monthly targets both, in numbers and volumes of groups mobilized and disbursed.

- Sales and Marketing Skills- Able to effectively market a product focusing on the benefits and convincing clients with excellent interpersonal skills purposed to on-board the customer to take a loan.

- Problem Solving - Identifies and resolves problems in a timely manner, Gathers and analyzes information skillfully; Develops alternative solutions; Works well in group problem solving situations; Uses reason even when dealing with difficult issues.
- Quality - Demonstrates accuracy and thoroughness; Looks for ways to improve and promote quality; Applies feedback to improve performance; Monitors own work to ensure quality.
- Time Management -Manages schedules and daily plans and exhibits punctuality
- Dependability - Follows instructions, responds to management direction; Takes responsibility for own actions; Keeps commitments; Commits to long hours of work when necessary to reach goals. Completes tasks on time or notifies appropriate person with an alternate plan.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
- Degree or Diploma in Business, Marketing or a related field required; Degree is an added advantage.
- Fluency in English (written and spoken) required; Additional local language in country and area of operation, is preferred
- Good communication skills
- Knowledge of Sales of Loan products and customer service is an added advantage
- Able to sell and cross sell a large range of products
KEY DELIVERABLES
- Number of new untapped areas contacted for mobilization of potential clients.
- Number of new groups inaugurated and disbursed.
- Submit progress of work weekly reports to Branch Manager for Loan officer’s assessment.

Availability to travel 90% of the time within the Branch catchment areas
