Role:
As a Financial Controller / Procurement Specialist, you will be responsible for managing the financial operations of the Farm, to ensure accurate financial reporting, maintaining compliance as per regulatory requirements, procurement processes of the farm, ensuring the timely and cost-effective acquisition of quality materials and services. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of strategic planning, financial analysis, budgeting, and providing financial insights to support the company’s growth and profitability.

Key Responsibilities
1. Financial Management and Reporting
• Preparing and managing the financial accounting and reporting as per accounting standards and regulations.
• Prepare accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and annual reports to provide management with insights into financial trends.

• Analyse procurement costs and identify opportunities for cost savings.

• Co-ordination with auditors for conducting statutory audit, tax audit, cost audit and internal audit.
2. Procurement Strategy and Planning
• Develop and implement procurement strategies aligned with company objectives.
• Conduct market research to identify potential suppliers and trends in the agribusiness sector.

• Collaborate with key stakeholders such as Senior Management, Finance team based in India Head Office to forecast demand and plan the financial activities for the company.

3. Operational Management
• Implement best practices in procurement processes to improve efficiency and reduce costs.
• Monitor inventory levels and coordinate with production and supply chain teams to avoid shortages or excesses.

• Provide financial insights to support the development and execution of business strategies
• Manage cash flow to ensure the business has adequate resources to meet its obligations, optimize the use of financial resources to support business activities

4. Compliance and Risk Management
• Ensure compliance with all local and international tax laws and regulations, accounting standards and other financial regulations.
• Identify and manage financial risk. Develop and implement risks mitigating strategies associated with financial activities.

Qualifications and Skills
• Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or related field. CA / CPA or equivalent professional qualification is highly desirable.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in Finance within the agribusiness sector.

• Familiarity with Ugandan financial regulations and agribusiness sector dynamics.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills; proficiency in financial software.
• Excellent communication and leadership abilities.
• Strong decision-making skills with a focus on achieving the best outcomes for the company.
• Ability to work in dynamic and fast-paced environment and collaborate with teams
• Preferably should be able to work at Farm setup.
