Role Description
The Finance Manager is a full-time, on-site role based at St. Marys Hospital Lacor in Gulu. This role is responsible for overseeing day-to-day financial operations, including budgeting, forecasting, cash flow management, and financial reporting. The Finance Manager will prepare and analyze financial statements, monitor expenditures, and ensure compliance with relevant regulations, policies, and donor requirements. The role includes managing financial controls, supporting audits, supervising finance staff, and collaborating with department heads on budget planning and cost optimization. The Finance Manager will also contribute to strategic financial planning, advise leadership on financial risks and opportunities, and help maintain robust financial systems and procedures.
Qualifications
- Strong skills in financial management, budgeting, and forecasting, with the ability to interpret and present financial data clearly.
- Experience in financial reporting, cash flow management, and implementing effective internal controls.
- Knowledge of accounting standards, regulatory compliance, and audit processes, preferably in a healthcare or non-profit environment.
- Proficiency with accounting software and spreadsheet tools, along with general IT literacy for financial data management.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities, with attention to detail and accuracy.
- Proven leadership and team management skills, including the ability to mentor staff and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills for working with clinical, administrative, and external stakeholders.
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field; professional certification (e.g., CPA, ACCA) is an advantage.
- Demonstrated experience in a finance management role, ideally within a hospital, healthcare facility, or similar organization.
- Ability to work on-site in Gulu, manage multiple priorities, and uphold ethical standards and confidentiality.
