Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled and results-driven Finance Manager to join our leadership team. In this pivotal role, you will oversee all financial operations, ensuring the company's robust financial health, unwavering compliance with regulations, and strategic growth.
The ideal candidate will bring strong leadership, astute financial acumen, and a proven track record in comprehensive financial management, accounting, and reporting. As the Finance Manager, you will play a key role in guiding crucial business decisions, optimizing cash flow, and driving superior financial performance to align directly with company goals.
Key Responsibilities
1. Financial Strategy & Planning
- Strategic Development: Develop and implement sound financial strategies to support the company’s long-term growth and profitability goals.
- Planning & Forecasting: Lead all financial planning and forecasting activities, providing accurate projections and insights.
2. Financial Reporting & Analysis
- Oversight & Delivery: Oversee the preparation and timely delivery of accurate financial reports, including statutory financial statements, comprehensive management accounts, detailed business cases, and insightful analysis reports.
- Decision Support: Provide critical financial analysis to guide management decisions and enhance strategic planning.
3. Budgeting & Cost Control
- Budget Management: Manage the annual budgeting process, meticulously monitor spending, and ensure the company operates efficiently within budgeted parameters.
- Cost Optimization: Implement effective cost-control measures to optimize financial performance and drive efficiency.
4. Working Capital & Cash Flow Management
- Cash Flow Optimization: Ensure efficient cash flow management, closely monitor liquidity, and strategically manage working capital.
- Opportunity Identification: Proactively identify opportunities for cost savings and cash flow optimization.
5. Compliance & Risk Management
- Regulatory Adherence: Ensure full compliance with local tax laws, financial regulations, and internal company policies.
- Risk Mitigation: Identify and proactively mitigate financial risks, ensuring all financial operations comply with relevant accounting standards and Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
6. Internal Controls & Audit
- Control Framework: Establish and maintain strong internal controls and processes to safeguard company assets.
- Operational Monitoring: Monitor ongoing financial operations such as inventory management, payroll, e-invoicing, and routine reconciliations.
- Audit Coordination: Coordinate both internal and external audits, ensuring their timely and accurate completion.
7. Team Leadership & Development
- Leadership & Mentorship: Lead and mentor the finance team, fostering a collaborative and high-performance work culture.
- Capability Building: Provide comprehensive training and support to continuously improve the team's technical and professional capabilities.
8. Stakeholder Communication
- Effective Communication: Communicate effectively and transparently with the Board, Senior Management, Regulators, Suppliers, Customers, Employees, and other key stakeholders (auditors, tax advisors, etc.) to ensure financial objectives are met and clearly understood.
9. Tax Planning & Management
- Regulatory Updates: Stay up-to-date with new developments in the tax and business environment.
- Compliance & Optimization: Oversee tax planning and compliance, ensuring the company meets all tax obligations in a timely and efficient manner while strategically optimizing tax liabilities.
10. Investment & Capital Management
- Investment Analysis: Analyze potential investment opportunities, providing data-driven recommendations.
- Capital Structure: Manage the capital structure to ensure financial stability and effectively support business expansion initiatives.
Requirements & Qualifications
Education & Professional Certification
- Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Commerce, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Certification: A professional certification (CPA, ACCA, CFA, or equivalent) is highly desirable.
Experience
- Overall Experience: Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in financial management or accounting.
- Leadership Experience: At least 2 years of experience in a leadership or supervisory role.
- Key Area Experience: Proven experience in inventory management, budgeting, financial forecasting, and financial reporting.
Essential Skills
- Financial Acumen: Strong knowledge of financial management principles, accounting standards (GAAP/IFRS), tax laws, and financial regulations. Experience with financial modeling and cost analysis is crucial.
- Leadership Skills: Demonstrated ability to lead, motivate, and develop a high-performing team, providing clear direction and support.
- Analytical Thinking: Exceptional analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data, identify trends, draw meaningful conclusions, and make data-driven recommendations.
- Communication & Interpersonal Skills: Excellent communication skills (both written and verbal), with the ability to present complex financial information clearly and concisely to senior management and external stakeholders.
- Tech-Savvy: Proficiency in accounting software and ERP systems (experience with Tally is a strong advantage). Advanced Excel skills are essential.
- Problem-Solving: Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities, with a proactive, hands-on approach to addressing financial challenges.
