Job Purpose
We are seeking a reliable and qualified field supervisor to join our team, responsible for plucking of good leaf quality, supervision of labour for better output, proper record keeping, occupational health and safety, plucking table maintenance, Leaf bagging, Time management of the workforce and Timely reporting.
Company background
Uganda Tea Corporation has been a leading tea producer and exporter in Uganda for the last 20 years. It has three estates with its headquarters at Kasaku near Lugazi. Kasaku is about 48km from Kampala and 40km from Jinja.
Job Identification

Job specification
- Inspect plucked green leaf in the field to ensure good quality, maximize production of green leaf in the fields by ensuring volumes are achieved.
- Supervising general workers to ensure discipline is maintained.
- Ensure manual, chemical weeding, plucking, pruning and fertilizer application is properly done,
- Proper record keeping through recording chemical accountabilities, recording and keeping field weeding round reports, record and keep field production reports.
- Occupational health and safety through ensuring that workers wear appropriate personal protective equipment’s (PPEs) at all times.
- Plucking table maintenance at the right height during plucking for better results.
- Supervise the weighing and recording of the green leaf at the estate.
- Any other duties as may be assigned by the supervisor from time to time.
Candidate specification
Educational requirements: Certificate in crop husbandry Work experience: 1-2 years.
Required skills
Strong communication skills, ability to work independently as part of a team, should have a fair command of the English language, interpersonal skills, public relations skills, leadership skills.
