Job Description
FIMRC is seeking a Field Operations Manager (FOM) to oversee operations at its clinic and outreach-based programs in Bududa District. This critical role ensures the smooth functioning of site operations, supports local staff, and helps achieve FIMRC's mission.
Key Areas of Responsibility:
1. Volunteer Management
o Coordinate the Global Health Volunteer Program (GHVP) in collaboration with the USA-based Director of Volunteer Programs.
o Develop tailored itineraries for international volunteers based on skills, duration, and interests.
o Oversee health education programs and community campaigns with GHVP volunteers.
o Act as a resource for volunteers, providing insights into Uganda's healthcare system and community needs.
o Coordinate transportation, housing, and dietary arrangements for volunteers.
2. Clinic Management
o Maintain strong working relationships with local agencies and organizations.
o Support the clinic team in daily operations and supply management.
o Maintain accurate medical records and track all children served.
o Assist with official reporting, including the Monthly Project Report.
3. Project Management
o Oversee financial operations, including budgeting, accounting, and reporting.
o Monitor resources and ensure effective service delivery for all programs.
o Design and implement outreach programs to further FIMRC’s mission.
o Evaluate and improve outreach programs based on community needs.
o Ensure compliance with regulatory and legal requirements, including permits and licenses.
4. Other Duties
o Comply with FIMRC policies and Uganda’s laws.
o Report significant actions to FIMRC headquarters.
Qualifications
Required:
• Previous management experience with large, multidisciplinary teams.
• Experience working in East Africa, particularly in remote and resource-limited environments.
• Strong administrative and operational skills.
Preferred:
• Experience in community-based healthcare settings.
• Familiarity with grant-funded initiatives.
• Knowledge of Uganda’s cultural and political landscape; experience liaising with the Ugandan government is a plus.
Pay and Benefits
• Monthly Salary: $1300–1700 USD.
• Living expenses covered (housing, meals, etc.).
• Work-related expenses (equipment, phone/internet, transportation).
• Health, dental, and eye insurance, plus evacuation insurance.
• Round-trip flight to home country at the start and end of the contract.
• 1.25 PTO days accrued per month.
