About The Role

As a Field Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in site survey, installation, maintenance, and

troubleshooting of solar-powered irrigation systems. You will work closely with our project teams, and

clients to deliver a enhanced customer experience. This position requires technical expertise in solar

energy systems, irrigation technologies, and strong problem-solving skills to address on-site challenges

effectively.

Key Responsibilities

  • Undertaking Site visit for pre-feasibility and Feasibility site information collection and analysis,

designing irrigation systems to suite client needs

  • Contacting clients to set preferred dates and installing the products within the set timelines.
  • Lead and participate in the installation of solar panels, pumps, controllers, and associated

irrigation equipment at client sites.

  • Perform system commissioning, including testing, calibration, and configuration of components

to ensure optimal performance.

  • Conduct routine maintenance checks and inspections on installed systems to identify and address

any issues promptly while reporting emerging issues during after-sales as soon as they emerge

and working closely with the after-sales department to ensure quick resolution of after-sale issues.

  • Diagnose and resolve technical problems related to solar panels, pumps, sensors, and irrigation

controls both remotely and on-site.

  • Ensure all installations meet company standards, industry regulations, and client requirements.
  • Maintain accurate records of installation, maintenance activities, and site reports, including

guiding clients through contract and warranty card completion

  • Provide training to clients and end-users on system operation, maintenance procedures, and

troubleshooting techniques.

  • Adhere to safety protocols and regulations during all field activities to prevent accidents and

ensure the well-being of yourself and others.

  • Collaborate with internal teams and external stakeholders to coordinate project schedules, resolve

issues, and optimize system performance.

  • Identify opportunities for process optimization, cost reduction, and performance enhancement in

collaboration with the engineering and project management teams.

  • Proper time management to ensure all projects assigned are achieved within the timelines set
  • Mentoring and in-field training of new engineers
  • Complete a minimum of 2 technical tasks in a day, achieving a mean Turn Around Time of

under 2 days for jobs done and app adherence of 100% of all the jobs done

Does this sound like you?

  • Degree/ Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or any other related field with specialization in

Agricultural equipment is an added advantage

  • 2+ years of experience with solar grid pump systems and irrigation systems management.

Experience in installing drip irrigation systems will be an added advantage.

  • Hands-on, detail-oriented, and with strong execution skills especially installation, after sales

and conducting surveys

  • Good communication skills both written and spoken with the ability to interact freely with

customers of different levels and backgrounds.

  • An independent thinker who is able to thrive in a fast-paced dynamic environment.
  • In-depth knowledge of the industry and current trends adaptable for SunCulture
  • Be organized and be an expert in time management
  • An agile trainer capable of training and being trained and be very resilient and flexible
  • Strong computer skills in, GSuite, Microsoft Office, database management experience in CAD

or other project design software is a plus

  • Able to work in a dynamic environment with immense pressure and meet deadlines
  • Comfortable with ambiguity and able to plan, be organized, and meet deadlines
  • Proactive, collaborative, organized, curious, problem solver with a “can-do” attitude
