Job Summary

SR Afro Chicks & Breeders Ltd, we are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Sales & Marketing Manager to drive the sales and distribution of our organic fertilizer products throughout Uganda & East African market. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of the East Africa Agricultural Sector and have a proven track record of achieving sales targets.

Position Responsibilities:

a) Sales Strategy & Execution:

  • Develop and implement effective sales strategies to achieve and exceed sales targets;
  • Identify and target key customer segments, including smallholder farmers, commercial farms, and agricultural cooperatives.
  • Conduct market research to identify new opportunities and trends in the organic fertilizer market.
  • Manage and maintain a sales pipeline, accurately forecasting sales and providing regular reports to management.

b) Market Development & Promotion:

  • Promote the benefits of organic fertilizer through various marketing and promotional activities.
  • Represent the company at agricultural trade shows, exhibitions, and other industry events.
  • Gather and analyze market feedback to identify opportunities for product improvement and development.

c) Relationship Management:

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with farmers, agricultural cooperatives, distributors, and other key stakeholders.
  • Provide technical expertise and support to customers on the proper use and benefits of organic fertilizer.
  • Address customer inquiries and resolve any issues or complaints in a timely and professional manner.
  • Organize and conduct field days, workshops, and demonstrations to educate farmers on fertilizer application.

d) Distribution & Logistics:

  • Coordinate with logistics chain teams to ensure timely delivery of products to customers.
  • Monitor inventory levels and ensure adequate stock availability at distribution points.

e) Reporting and Administration:

  • Prepare and submit regular sales reports, including sales forecasts, market analysis, and customer feedback.
  • Maintain accurate records of customer interactions, sales activities, and expenses.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures.

f) Leadership & Team Development

  • Recruit, train, and develop the sales team
  • Train the team on the required skills

Marketing Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Agriculture, Agribusiness, Marketing, or a related field.

  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in sales, preferably in the agricultural sector, with a focus on fertilizers or related products.
  • Proven track record of achieving sales targets and building strong customer relationships.
  • Strong understanding of organic farming practices and the benefits of organic fertilizers.
  • Deep understanding of N-P-K ratios, soil pH balance, and the carbon-sequestration benefits of organic matter
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
