JOB OVERVIEW

The Supermarket Security Personnel at S&S Enterprise are responsible for ensuring the safety and security of the supermarket premises, its assets, employees, and customers. This role requires diligent monitoring, proactive risk management, and effective incident response to maintain a secure and welcoming environment. The Security Personnel work under the supervision of the Supermarket Security Supervisor and collaborate closely with other store management and operational teams.

Key Responsibilities

  • Premises Monitoring:
    • Patrol the supermarket floor, parking areas, storage rooms, and other key locations to deter theft, vandalism, and other security breaches.
    • Monitor CCTV and other surveillance systems to identify suspicious activities and promptly report any concerns.
  • Access Control:
      • Ensure that all entry and exit points are secure and that access is restricted to authorized personnel and customers.
    Employment opportunities
    • Verify credentials of visitors and staff when required, and manage visitor logs according to company procedures.
  • Incident Response:
    • Respond swiftly to security incidents, including theft, disturbances, and emergencies, following established protocols.
    • Provide assistance during emergency situations such as fires, medical incidents, or evacuation procedures, coordinating with internal and external emergency services.
  • Reporting and Documentation:
    • Document all security incidents, irregularities, and activities in detailed reports.
    • Submit daily security logs and incident reports to the Supermarket Security Supervisor for review and further action.
  • Collaboration and Communication:
    • Communicate effectively with team members, store management, and law enforcement agencies when necessary.
    • Assist with the training and orientation of new security staff, sharing best practices and ensuring adherence to company policies.
  • Customer Service Support:
    • Interact courteously with customers, providing directions and assistance while maintaining a visible security presence.
    • Address and de-escalate conflicts among customers or between customers and staff, ensuring a calm and safe environment.
  • Compliance and Safety:
    • Adhere to all company policies, local laws, and safety regulations.
    • Use personal protective equipment (PPE) as required and ensure that all security equipment is maintained in good working order.
    • Participate in regular safety drills and training sessions to stay updated on emergency procedures and new security protocols.

Qualifications

  1. Educational Background:
    1. A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
    1. Additional training or certification in security operations, safety management, or related fields is preferred.
  2. Experience:
    1. Prior experience in a security role, preferably in a retail or commercial setting, is highly desirable.
    1. Familiarity with operating CCTV systems, alarm systems, and other security technologies is beneficial.
