JOB DETAILS:
Building Tomorrow exists to provide literacy and numeracy to all children, through community- powered learning.
Fellows serve as change agents who work with community education teams to enroll formerly out- of-school children, promote inclusiveness, as well as, improve administrators' school leadership and management.
To date, we have worked with over 15,000- Community Education Volunteers (CEVs) to reach 500,000+ learners with foundational skills in literacy and numeracy. We are recruiting for our Cohort 10 class of fellovis, to help support learning in rural districts of Eastern and Northern Uganda.
If you hold a university degree, and are passionate about improving primary education outcomes, then this is for you.
The Building Tomorrow Fellows program is highly selective and offers young leaders the opportunity to practice and hone skills in leadership whilst supporting rural communities access to quality and inclusive education over a period of 2 years. Upon completion, you can join a dynamic, creative, and vision-oriented network of alums.
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
• Passionate about community development with a desire to create social impact.
• Possess a passion for education equality, creative ingenuity, a relentless work ethic, and belief in collaboratively engaging with others.
• Aged 25 years and below, with no more than 4 years of post-university training
• Commit to complete 24 months of the leadership journey with strict compliance to Building Tomorrow code of conduct
• Ability to ride a motorcycle to navigate rural communities and willingness to relocate to rural districts
• Bachelor's degree in any field from a recognized University or higher institution of learning. Able to speak at least one local language(s) in Eastern and Northern regions.
• Strong communication and demonstrated leadership skills, and a high degree of emotional intelligence.
• Computer literate and Microsoft Office essentials proficient.
• Familiar on how to use smart devices such as phones and tablets.
