Job Purpose
Manage the financial and physical performance of the farm.
Required Qualifications
- A Master’s in Agriculture related field;
- Bachelor’s degree in Agriculture related field;
Responsibilities
1. Implement the Financial Budget and the Strategic Plan for the farm;
2. Maintain and monitors the quality of yield, whether livestock or crops;
3. Monitor animal health and welfare, including liaising with vets;
4. Maintain a record of pests and diseases and an understanding of how they spread and how to treat them;
5. Participate in the development of annul farm budgets and manage within the budgeted parameters;
6. Monitors progress against budget, trends or variances on monthly basis;
7. Protect the environment, maintains biodiversity and monitors health and soil conditions;
8. Identify operational business risks early and takes mitigation measures;
9. Compile with Health and safety standards as stipulated in the Labor laws at all times;
10. Supervise employees, plans activities for trainee staff, mentors band monitors them;
11. Make the supply purchase decisions and maintain farm machinery and facilities, including water pipes, animal shelters and fences;
12. Arrange the maintenance and repair of farm buildings, machinery and equipment.
