African Clean Energy (ACE) is a B-Corp certified enterprise that produces and distributes the ACE One solar-biomass hybrid energy system. A small-yet-powerful smokeless stove, it will virtually eradicate the catastrophic impact that traditional cooking and heating methods inflict on health, environment, and poverty in developing countries around the world, and provides electricity.

ACE is seeking a dedicated and results-driven Production Manager to lead our manufacturing and assembly operations in Gulu**, Uganda. The successful candidate will oversee the entire production process, ensuring efficiency, quality control, and safety while meeting production targets. This role requires strong leadership, strategic planning, and operational expertise.

Key responsibilities
• Oversee all production, manufacturing, and assembly activities at the factory.
• Supervise, train, and support factory workers to ensure high performance and adherence to safety standards.

• Develop, maintain, and update Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to enhance safety and efficiency.
• Plan, forecast, and manage production schedules, adjusting workflows as necessary.

• Monitor and manage inventory levels of raw materials, work-in-progress, and finished goods, ensuring timely reporting.

• Implement and maintain stringent quality control procedures to ensure products meet required standards.
• Oversee regular machine maintenance to prevent downtime and ensure optimal performance.
• Coordinate with logistics teams for the safe and timely delivery of ACE One stoves to branch locations.

• Manage the refurbishment process for used stoves.
• Continuously optimize factory layout and workflows to enhance productivity.
• Contribute to factory improvement and expansion strategies.
• Develop and update repair and maintenance guides for response teams based on product enhancements.
• Provide quarterly raw material usage reports to the Supply Chain Team for URA return filing.
• Collaborate with the Operations Manager to facilitate annual Uganda National Bureau of Standards (UNBS) audits.
• Work closely with procurement teams to source factory consumables and locally manufactured components.
• Coordinate with the inventory officer to monitor stock levels and communicate requirements to management.
• Perform any additional duties as assigned by senior management.

Qualifications & Experience
• Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing, or a related field.
• Minimum 5 years of proven experience in production and manufacturing, preferably in the renewable energy sector.
• Strong knowledge of production planning, quality control, and safety regulations (Environmental Protection and Occupational Safety & Health Administration guidelines).
• Demonstrated leadership experience in supervising teams and optimizing production workflows.
• Excellent problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet production targets.

• Must be willing to relocate to Gulu, Uganda, and travel as needed.
• Recommendation and residence letter from LC1 Office required.
