JOB DETAILS:
GIZ Uganda under its “Promoting Rural Development in Northern Uganda II” (PRUDEV II) programme seeks to strengthen the resilience of agro-ecosystems and people within Northern Uganda. GIZ intends to support the strengthening of lower-tier BDS providers’ capabilities leading to the supply of suitable, high-quality and affordable BDS to the FOs and the Agro-MSMEs. The supply of quality low-tier BDS will stimulate the unlocking of the business potential and competitiveness of 600 MSMEs and FOs that GIZ seeks to support under PRUDEV-II over a 2-year period.
GIZ through its implementing partner FRIENDS Consult Ltd (FCL) seeks to interest 200 lower tier BDS providers to participate in the strengthening of the supply and quality of affordable BDS in Northern Uganda intervention under PRUDEV-II in the following priority areas: i) Needs Analysis; ii) Access to Finance; iii) Access to Markets; iv) Supply-Chain Management; v) Technology advancement; vi) Product development and vii) Production methods. FCL therefore seeks qualified and experienced lower-tier BDS providers (individuals or companies) to apply to participate in this initiative to provide quality BDS to the 600 MSMEs and FOs in the 22 programme districts in Acholi and Lango sub-regions of Northern Uganda.

Required qualifications:
1. At least 2 years’ experience offering lower-tier BDS as a CBT, TOT, mentor, company etc preferably in the Acholi and Lango sub-regions.
2. At least a Diploma in Agriculture, Social Science, Business Management or any relevant field

3. Very good understanding of business models for farmer groups, FOs and MSMEs.
4. Expertise in organizational development.
5. Must have experience in working with groups from different educational backgrounds be familiar with participatory adult learning approaches.
