Call WeWorkS-SME growth track
Enabel, with funding from the European Union and the Kingdom of Belgium, is implementing the WeWorkS project (2023-2028) as part of its initiative to support private sector development in Uganda. The project aims at creating 35 specialized, hands-on business support aimed at accelerating growth, improving operations, and enhancing job creation.
Key areas of support
- Business Development: Preparing export-driven SMEs for investment, supporting technical assistance in the following areas: Governance & Compliance, Strengthening business structures and regulatory adherence, and developing a strong start development and team efficiency
- Financial Management & Planning: Improving financial strategies and planning, and enhancing access to finance for funding and expansion opportunities
- Business Strategy & Market Development: Upskilling SMEs, expanding distribution, and increasing sales through digitalization and market access
- Operational Efficiency & Technology Integration: Streamlining processes and adopting smart business solutions
Eligibility criteria
This opportunity is open to SMEs that meet the following criteria:
- Legally registered with URSB (Uganda Registration Services Bureau)
- SME, or cooperative/enterprise
- Operational for at least two years
- Annual turnover of UGX 80 million or more
- Commitment to business growth and job creation
Target regions & priority sectors
SMEs must operate in one of the following regions: Albertine & Rwenzori, Busoga, Kampala Priority will be given to businesses in the following sectors: agribusiness, poultry, piggery, coffee, horticulture, dairy, tourism, fishery, construction, sustainable tourism, forestry
