About the role
• The Executive Director (ED) will set the vision and oversee the delivery of FSDU’s programmatic and corporate strategy, ensuring accountability to the Board, funders, and key stakeholders.
• Lead systemic, gender-inclusive financial innovation that benefits women, youth, smallholder farmers, and small businesses.

• Build strategic relationships with policymakers, industry leaders, and donors.

• Develop a results-driven organization that aligns with international best practices in financial inclusion.
• Drive transformational change within Uganda’s financial sector using evidence-based strategies and fostering partnership.

Skills and experience
• Master’s Degree in a relevant discipline (e.g., Business Administration, Economics, International Development, Public Policy, Information Technology).
• Minimum of 10 years in organizational leadership or C-Suite roles, with demonstrated responsibility for overall performance.

• Proven experience engaging with a Board of Directors.
• In-depth understanding of the financial sector, with expertise in digital financial services and emerging technology trends.

• Direct experience or strong understanding of market systems approaches to financial inclusion.
• Demonstrated success in fundraising and managing relationships with multiple donors.
• Exceptional stakeholder management and coalition-building skills.
