JOB DETAILS:

Minimum Qualification

Applicants should be Ugandans holding an Honours Bachelor’s Degree in Agricultural Engineering; or Civil Engineering; or Irrigation Engineering; or Water Resources Engineering; or Electrical Engineering from a recognized University or Institution.

Working Experience

Duties
The incumbent will be responsible to the Senior Engineer for performing the following duties:-

- Promoting implementation and evaluation of irrigation systems and projects according to technical specifications and in conformance with environmental standards;

- Advising on construction methods, materials and quality standards and developing the necessary designs;

- Assessing sites and collecting information for developing drawings and plans for irrigation systems;

- Supervising construction of irrigation systems and structures;

- Promoting maintenance and repair of irrigation systems facilities and related farm structures;

- Testing irrigation systems and related technologies in order to ensure their viability, efficiency and effectiveness;

- Providing technical support and training extension staff in irrigation systems through partnerships with the private sector and District Local Governments;

- Any other duties as assigned from time to time.
