Description

CNOOC Enertech International (Uganda) Limited is a subcontractor to one of the upstream oil and gas companies in Uganda. It provides exploration, drilling Engineering, logging, underground special operations, petroleum engineering construction and other services to the oil and gas sector.
The company is recruiting Uganda Nationals in the stated positions.
1. Emergency Team Leader
As part of the Emergency Team, this Individual shall provide well control Emergency services on site.
Key Responsibilities
1. Well Control Equipment Rental Service Management
- Optimize well control equipment rental service programs and establish standardized operating procedures to ensure compliance with industry safety regulations and best practices.
- Supervise the performance status of rental equipment to guarantee all devices meet emergency response requirements.
2. Emergency Equipment Maintenance & Operation
- Routine Management: Organize and execute regular maintenance, inspection, and repair of well control emergency equipment, maintaining detailed maintenance records.
- Technical Operations:
- Proficiently understand the working principles of key equipment such as fire pumps and cutting devices, and direct the team in operating emergency rescue equipment according to protocols.
- Capable of interpreting equipment design drawings and guiding the team in the assembly/disassembly and commissioning of complex systems.
3. Emergency Response & Troubleshooting
- Malfunction Handling: Quickly diagnose equipment failures during abnormal operations, organize repairs, and restore normal functionality.
- Blowout Emergency: In case of a blowout or other critical situations, immediately activate emergency protocols and lead the team in well control rescue operations to ensure onsite safety.
4. Team Management & Training
- Oversee daily management and skill development of the well control emergency team, enhancing members’ operational, diagnostic, and emergency response capabilities.
- • Conduct regular well control drills to strengthen the teams operational readiness.
5. Additional Duties
Execute ad-hoc tasks assigned by superiors to ensure efficient well control emergency operations.
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree or above with a major in Petroleum Engineering or mechanical engineering or the related.
- At least 8 years of experience in well control emergence rescue.
Additional Knowledge required
- International well control certificate for lADC/IWCF/CWCC.
- H2S protection training certificate for petroleum site operation.
- Safety & survival certificate for petroleum site operation or other similar certificates.
- Good professional English skills in listening, speaking, reading and writing.
- With more than 8 years of well control emergence rescue experience.
- Deep understanding of well control emergence operation. Be familiar with a variety of well control emergence equipment such as fire pump, area gas monitor, thermal imager etc.
- Knowledge Microsoft Office software, such as EXCEL, WORD, PPT and PROJECT, etc.
Emergency Team Member
Key Responsibilities
1. Equipment Maintenance & Operations
- Perform daily maintenance, inspection and basic repairs of well control emergency equipment under supervision.
- Conduct routine function tests and lubrication of fire pumps, cutting equipment and other emergency devices.
- Maintain accurate equipment service logs and report abnormalities immediately.
2. Emergency Equipment Operation
- Demonstrate working knowledge of fire pumps and hydraulic cutting tools.
- Operate designated well control emergency equipment as directed by team leader.
- Assist in equipment setup and breakdown during drills and actual emergencies.
- Technical Support Functions
Read and interpret basic equipment schematics and assembly drawings.
Perform equipment disassembly/assembly under technical guidance.
Assist technicians in troubleshooting mechanical/electrical issues. - Emergency Response
Recognize signs of equipment malfunction and report promptly.
- Execute assigned tasks during blowout emergencies per established protocols.
- Maintain emergency gear in ready-to-deploy condition at all times.
5. Compliance & Safety
Follow all safety procedures during equipment handling.
Participate in monthly safety training sessions.
• Maintain work area cleanliness and organization.
6. Additional Duties
Complete equipment inventory checks as scheduled.
Assist in workshop maintenance tasks.
• Perform other reasonable duties assigned by supervisor.
