Job Overview:

The role will determine product conformity to customer specification through independent inspection and tests in accordance with the Project Quality Plan. Identify non-conformity for rectification and assure final resolution. He will liaise with Production Supervisor, Discipline Engineer, Project Engineer, Operations Engineer, , Field Engineer, Certifying Authority, Discipline Technicians, Discipline Inspector, Customer.

Responsibilities

Key Tasks and Responsibilities:

  • Suitably Qualified, JIB Approved Electrician, COMPEX Hazardous Area Qualified, High Voltage Isolation and Access Qualification, Instrument Installation and Test Experience
  • Maintain Surveillance Inspections to ensure adherence/compliance with COMPANY specifications and International applicable codes and standards.
  • Surveillance to be maintained for all received materials, are they adequately stored and correctly handled, and preserved in line with suppliers’ recommendations.
  • Are ICAPS systematic Preservation processes being carried out and reported accordingly.
  • Checking work procedures, including those relating to special processes.
  • Ensure that all installation tools and equipment used are correctly calibrated/certified.
  • Able to maintain check on Material traceability and maintain Red Line Mark-ups for future reference back to Material Traceability Documents.
  • Ability to prepare Reports in line with Project requirements and relevant to E & I Processes.
  • If required, review concessions to clarify/approve materials/assembly queries from Sub-contractors.
  • Coordination of interfacing activities of field Engineering.
  • Review and update as required the inspection and test plans applicable.
  • Coordinate the inspection program, testing and review of the inspection reports, including coordination with COMPANY and third-party inspection as applicable.
  • Raise Punch items as required, Interpret/Close out any Punch items as required.
  • Review/implement corrective actions related to nonconforming items of equipment and material for construction work
  • Check within discipline, the “test packages” provided for the final checks.
  • Verify calibration and acceptance of all Test Equipment to be used in tests.
  • Check the documents certifying the tests, controls and inspections carried out and ensure their orderly approval and signature, collation, and management.
  • Check procedures and equipment to be used in tests, controls, and inspections and agree on the applicable operating procedures with the organization in charge of the works.
  • Attending tests, controls and inspections carried out by the SUB-CONTRACTORs, and CONTRACTOR, checking conformity with the Site Quality Control Plan and obtaining the relevant documentation.
  • Assisting with the systematic collection of lessons learned
  • Ensure that the National Content Plan is followed by all parties (McDermott and Subcontractors)
  • Managing the training and advancement of local employees and ensuring that knowledge of the company’s policies and procedures are included.

Qualifications

Essential Qualifications and Education:

  • Able to understand English: reading, writing, speaking.
  • Experience in E&I Equipment and installation.
  • Familiar with relevant Code & Standard e.g. NEC (NFPA 70), API-14F, API-550, API-14C, IEC, IEEE
  • Min 10 years in oil & gas fabrication with 5 years minimum as senior inspector
  • Electrical / Instrumentation Engineering degree / Diploma or equivalent (preferred)
  • Degree or trade certification, CompEX Electrical EX01-04 Certified
