DIRECTORATE OF POSTGRADUATE STUDIES, RESEARCH AND ENTERPRISE

Position: Editor (1 Position) Ext AD 09/4/2023

Duty Station: Main Campus – Nkozi

Reporting to: Deputy Director of Postgraduate Studies in charge of Research

Purpose of the job: To undertake manuscript editing, reviewing and final proofs for publications — in print and online — for the UMU press” as well as “ensuring visibility and wider accessibility of published works with UMU press.

Qualifications:

• Should be in possession of a PhD or a good relevant Master’s Degree obtained from a recognised University and registration for a PhD.

• At least 3 years of service as Assistant Research Fellow.

• At least four scholarly publications or a scholarly monograph

• Scholarly editorial experience of at least two years.

Key Responsibilities

• S/he will be responsible for all University academic publications, journals, monographs and books.

• Manage University linkages with other publishing institutions.

• Ensure marketing of all academic publications in print and online.

• Developing and updating UMU Press policies

• Member of the Research and Publications Committee of the Research Directorate.
