JOB DETAILS:

Position Summary:
The PEER EDUCATORS will support the implementation of the KP project through mobilization, sensitization, and empower other keep population through personal experiences, lessons leamt and testimonies in assigned districts to ensure that such people are Determined. Resilient, AIDS Free, Mentored and Safe

Key Duties and Responsibilities:
Project workplans
• In collaboration with the KP team, implementing partners and Peers will mobilise, engage, empower KP using the community-based approaches to access, utilise social and clinical HIV prevention services.

• Under guidance from the Project Officer, will develop periodic work plans (Annual, Quarterly, and Monthly) for the implementation of community related project activities in line with the project activities.

• Work with the Project Officers, Social workers, Community leaders, Sub- County Coordinators and facilitators
• to track the progress, identify barriers, and design corrective actions to attain project results.

• Organise peer review meetings in area of coverage to update key stakeholders on project progress and strategies, and proactively seek for opportunities to draw synergies with other on-going
• interventions.
• Participate in the referral system to ensure quality utilisation of the Social and Clinical based services
• Identification and mobilisation of eligible KPs and linking them to social support (peer) groups and platforms to access HIV prevention services
• Work with the KP peers in facilities to ensure KPs access quality services. Work with partner C80s to maintain innovative and empowering group- based activities to prometer KPs in HIV prevention services

Required Education, Knowledge and Experience
• Must have completed Senior Four.
• Additional experience and Education qualifications are an added advantage Other desired attributes
• Ability to communicate effectively
• Ability to read and write in English

Physical Ability:
• Ability to reside in Luwero or Nakasongola.
• Supervisory Controls: The individual will serve under the immediate supervision of the Prevention Officer -Key Population.

Contract Tenure: 1 year with a possibility of extension subject to availability of funding.
