Job Summary
AYAN (African Youth Action Network) is seeking a dedicated and skilled Digital Recruitment Lead to join our Jobtech for Refugees project. The Recruitment Lead will be responsible for identifying, vetting, and onboarding refugees onto digital gig economy platforms.
This role involves developing and implementing recruitment strategies, providing training, and ensuring successful job placements and retention. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in recruitment, a passion for technology, and an understanding of the refugee context.

Key Responsibilities:
Within the project, clients are identified and connected to suitable digital platforms offering gig opportunities. The Recruitment Lead will be responsible for executing the following processes and activities:
1. Identification and Outreach
• Develop and implement selection criteria for national and refugee candidates.
• Create and execute outreach strategies to identify potential candidates.
• Collaborate with refugee agencies,Refugee Led Organisations, community leaders, and other stakeholders to identify suitable candidates.
2. Vetting
• Develop vetting templates tailored to the requirements of different digital platforms.
• Conduct in-person meetings, tests, and physical verifications to assess candidate skills and assets.
• Identify and examine expectations for candidates and conduct information sessions.
• Curate, Maintain and continuously update a database of candidates
3. Onboarding
• Share vetted candidate database with digital platforms for user enrollment.
• Coordinate and deliver training sessions to prepare candidates for digital job opportunities.
4. Conversion
• Establish criteria for successful job conversion.
• Conduct regular mentor and check-in meetings with candidates to support their job search and application process.
5. Retention
• Perform regular check-ins with employed candidates to monitor their progress and address any challenges.
• Develop and implement job retention strategies to ensure long-term success for candidates.
Qualifications and Skills:
Essential:
• Digital Skills: Proficient in using recruitment software, digital platforms, and online communication tools.
• Recruitment/HR Skills: Experienced in end-to-end recruitment processes, including sourcing, interviewing, and onboarding.
• Understanding Refugee Context: Familiar with the challenges and opportunities within
• Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
• Recruitment Database Management Skills: Excellent skills in using recruitment spreadsheets and data storage systems.

Additional:
• Educational Background: Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Administration, or a related field.
• Professional Experience: 2-3 years of work experience in recruitment or HR roles.
• Interest in Tech: Keen interest in technology and its applications in HR and recruitment.
• Technical Proficiency: Proficient in using MS Office packages and other relevant software.
• Confidentiality: Ability to maintain the confidentiality of sensitive HR information.
