Position: Deputy Project Manager
Reporting to: Project Manager

Job Summary.
To Assist the Project Manager in planning, coordinating, executing, monitoring and controlling overall performance of the operations related to frame contract n°4600004522 (The contract) for waste management services between Total Energies E&P Uganda B.V. and Albertine Waste Management JV (The JV) and its partners (The Initiates, White Nile Consult and Epsilon) referred to as Partners.
Duties & Responsibilities.
Assist Project Manager to;
- Understand and execute The Contract
- Oversee all operational activities of the Contract in relation to Project Management, Quality Assurance & Quality
- Control, Scope of Services, National Content, Health, Safety, Social Security, Environment, Waste Management Planning, Services Time Schedule Management, Basis of Supply of Services, Coordination & reporting and Subcontractor management to ensure implementation of the contract as per the Contract terms
- Develop, train and lead the JV team
- Efficiently coordinate with The JV team and all its partners, subcontractors, suppliers, stakeholders in order to execute The Contract
- Develop, conform and continually improve Operational procedure and Objectives in line with the Contract
- Develop strategic business relationship with Total Energies & Frame contract users and relevant stakeholders
- Coordinate the development of operational budgets and monitor implementation
- Promote risk-based thinking in all operational activities. Report operational progress performance to Total Energies and Contract Manager
- Timely reporting to Total Energies and Contract manager as per contract
- Ensure and promote continuous improvement and participation in the Environment, Health and Safety Management in all your operations, activities and among all employees
- Other functions assigned by Total Energies and the Contract Manager
Qualification Requirements.
- Academic Qualification Required: Minimum of Bachelor’s Degree in Environment or Waste related Science or Discipline. A Master’s Degree in a relevant field is an added advantage
- Professional Qualification Required For Position: Certified Business Development Professional/Certified Logistics Operations Manager qualification is an added advantage,
Experience & Competency Requirement
Experience Required For Position: 5-10years experience in a similar role
Competencies Required For the Position: Planning and organizing, leadership, problem-solving, communication and negotiation skills, supervision skills, independent and self-motivated
Knowledge Requirement.
- Waste management: National and international waste management concepts, technology, and legislation.
- Project Management: knowledge of Project management & control
- Procurement and Contract Management: knowledge of procurement processes and legislative/regulatory requirements and understanding of contractual terms, especially in the oil and gas sector
- QHSSSE Management Systems: Knowledge of ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and OHSAS18001 implementation and auditing including Social and Security management
- Risk Appraisal: have knowledge of procurement risks management, as well as hazard and environmental aspects identification and risks analysis
- Administration and Management : Knowledge of business and management principles involved in strategic planning, leadership technique, production methods, and coordination of people and resources
Key Performance Indicators
- Timely Daily, Weekly and Monthly Operational Reporting as per The Contract
- Services Time schedule management
- Weekly Management Reporting to JV
- All Contract Indicators (0 – pollution cases, 0 - safety incidents, 0 - Late collections)
